When I was a young reporter, I learned more from Ken than any other editor I’ve worked with. Instead of just rewriting stories and fixing things, Ken sat down with his reporters to discuss their stories and show them how to do better. I credit Ken with giving me the foundation that later allowed me to become the business editor and metro editor after he left the paper. And if I did those jobs half as well as he did, I’d be happy with that.
